Water Works

I let Joshua and Isabelle go outside ahead of me this morning, while I finished putting on socks and shoes. Big Mistake! I barely had my socks on and Joshua was back in the house crying that he was wet, shortly followed by Isabelle who was soaked from head to toe. According to Joshua’s version of the story, he was splashing the water with his hands but Isabelle sat down in the mud puddle even though he told her “NO! NO! NO!”

Everyone knows that getting wet only once in a day will just not do. So of course when we were outside later in the day it was destiny for them to find another container of water and completely submerge themselves.

Newsflash Summertime is over kids! That water is c-c-c-cold!

Happy Fall Ya’ll

Not much new to report other than the weather. More rain! Last night, Joshua woke in the middle of the night while it was storming. He is soooo scared of unders (thunder). I was still at the kitchen table tinkering on the lappie when he came stumbling out of the room looking for me. I put him in my bed and turned on the closet light. It didn’t take long for both of us to fall asleep.

Today was the first dry day and boy were we all stir crazy and eager to spend some time outside. We went into town to take care of several misc. errands. It really wore the kids out, because they fell asleep somewhere along the way. Dad planted some sweet onions and I took pictures of the kids while they frolicked around in the leaves in the cool weather. It is just so gorgeous outide. This is my favorite time of year. The leaves are full of color and the grass looks so green (for now), and the weather is soooo mild.

Veterans Day

Did you hug a Veteran today? I did…my kids did too! We love you dad and are very thankful for all that you have done and continue to do.

Little known facts about this date in history:

  • This day is celebrated as Armistice & Remembrance Day in other parts of the world.
  • The Armistice was signed the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
  • Although commonly spelled grammatically correct (Veteran’s Day or Veterans’ Day), the government recognizes the non possessive (Veterans) spelling to be the official spelling.[1]

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Nuttin’ goin’ on here but the rain!

Drip! Drop!
Drip! Drop!
(singing)
Rain is falling down, falling down, it’s falling down…
Rain is falling down, falling down on me!…. [1]

The tunes are so catchy I find myself singing them all day.

Yucky Day

Typical Monday. Today was so blah, compared to the beautiful weekend. It was very chilly and overcast outside, followed by rain throughout the day. Not much to report… Went into town to buy diapers and milk, checked our PO boxes, payed a bill, then returned home. Big whoop! I did talk to mom earlier and found out that Turkey Day with the fam is back on again! Only one small smackerel of a problemo… Dad has made plans for the big day since my telling him of the cancellation. UGH!

Home Again

Alan and I slept in as long as the kids would allow. We ate a huge breakfast prepared by Uncle Don. Alan and Isabelle napped some more. Lunch was fend for yourself style. Got the news that the Annual Family Turkey Day Celebration was being cancelled. Bummer! We packed and left some time after 4pm. Made it home by 6pm. Fed the kids din-din, then put them to bed. I watched my favorite shows… Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters, then spent some time on the puter before heading off to bed.

Lucky Day

Let’s recap!

  • Sat in traffic for over an hour on I10.
  • Locked out my cc while attempting to get fuel in Baytown.
  • Waited in my truck while Alan got a haircut.
  • Crammed down a quick burger for lunch. Oh the indigestion!
  • Waited on the home owner who was 2 hours late.
  • Overwhelmed with the potential work load.
  • Overwhelmed with uncontrollable emotions. Boody hoo hoo!
  • Wandered aimlessly around our potential future neighborhood.
  • Cheesecake Factory - food was yummy, company was fab, waiter not so fab.
  • Late getting home.

Lucky Day?  Let’s say the jury is still out on this one…
